Stephanie M. Blumenau is an attorney and founder of Blumenau Law, PLLC. She specializes in the practice of immigration law. She advocates for the rights of immigrants: meeting with clients; performing detailed research; preparing motions, briefs, applications; and attending court.
Stephanie has worked as a pro bono attorney for Michigan Immigrant Rights Center, Ann Arbor, as well as with Immigrant Justice Partnership with the ACLU and Michigan Immigrant Rights Center. Upon earning her Juris Doctor, Stephanie worked in civil litigation, bankruptcy law, and landlord-tenant law at a private law firm. She then followed her passion by working as an immigration attorney at a private immigration law office.
Stephanie earned her Juris Doctor at Michigan State University College of Law. While attending law school, Stephanie served on the Executive Board as Assistant Articles Editor for International Law Review, worked as a Research Assistant with the research published in American Journal of Criminal Law, and was a member of Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute, a two-year litigation-focused certificate program. In addition, she worked as a Legal Clinician for Michigan State University College of Law Civil Rights Clinic and represented several litigants in Federal Court. Stephanie was a Legal Intern for Michigan Immigrant Rights Center, where she specialized in advocating for immigrant domestic and sexual abuse survivors, survivors of violent crimes, and assisted legal permanent residents in filing for naturalization. She received a Law Student Fellowship, sponsored by Equal Justice America.
Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Arts, with the academic honor of magna cum laude, from Siena Heights University, majoring in Sport Management, Business Administration with a Spanish minor. She received the Outstanding Student Award for Business and Management Division and was the Commencement Speaker at her graduation ceremony. While at Siena Heights University, Stephanie was a Broadcast and Multimedia Intern for Palace Sports and Entertainment, a Ticketing Intern for Michigan International Speedway, President and Vice President of Student Senate, and President of Sport Management Student Association. She was an Event Planner for Siena Heights Basketball Halftime Performances: Detroit Pistons Hooper & The Flight Crew, and Detroit Pistons Drumline. Stephanie studied abroad in Cuernavaca, Mexico, and speaks Spanish.
Stephanie’s grandparents were immigrants to the United States. She has always been proud of her family and their accomplishments. Stephanie decided to attend law school in order to pursue her desire to help immigrants and their families.
